"I enjoyed your story on the 38 best steakhouses in Texas [“Meat Your Maker,” December 2007]. However, I was disappointed that Western Sky Steakhouse, in San Angelo, was not mentioned. I live in Kerrville, and for nearly thirty years I have been flying friends and clients out to Western Sky. If I had to guess, I’d say I’ve made one hundred trips, with some three hundred passengers, all of whom seem to agree that this is indeed the best steakhouse in Texas."THE BEST Hamburger or Cheeseburger

“One of the best steaks ever!”
mrsanderson Riverside Cty "My brother in law finds the best places to eat and he scored yet again...... Although they have lunch specials we stuck to the menu and ordered the KC steak for 2 with 2 additional sides of loaded baked potatoes and salad. This was MORE than enough food for the 4 of us and we took steak home for burritos the next day! The aged meat was outstanding and the sides were large and delicious. Without dessert or alcohol, the check out the door was less than $50." We also have great desserts

Yes, in a town of many, many legendary steakhouses, guess what... You will be surprised at this place now (well, this place was once one of and still is legendary area steak houses, they just brought great Mexican food into the fold). For eating a steak “out”, its priced right, cooked right and has the “classic steakhouse taste” that if you have had a good steak here in this town, this is what you want. Don’t feel like steak? Try their Mexican dishes, you won’t be sorry. The lunch specials pack people in for good reason, they are affordable, and quite good. Be sure and try the German fries as a side and the onion rings are awesome as well. Chips and salsa served with every meal and the bar drinks are quite reasonable and good as well. I think the one other thing that makes this a “stand-out” restaurant” is the management. The constantly roam restaurant ensuring that you are satisfied during your visit. As other steakhouses in the areas are somewhat “on the skids” food and service wise, they could take a few lessons from these guys.
